Stainless steel lyrebird sculpture and memorial plaque set into sandstone, dedicated to NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service staff who have lost their lives whilst on duty.

The Three Sisters Track received the 2017 AILA NSW Landscape Architecture Award (Category: Tourism).

Over 600,000 people visit the site each year.

It features twelve stainless steel sculptures of fauna indigenous to the area.

As part of a major track upgrade which began in 2003, several stainless steel sculptures of native animals and ceramic lyrebird-footprint tiles were commissioned for the historic National Pass trail at Wentworth Falls.

Completed in 2008, the project won major heritage and conservation awards from the National Trust and UNESCO.

Tim Johnman has been manufacturing wildlife sculptures for Taronga Zoo for over 20 years.

The popular Gorilla Family, installed in 2002, has stood the test of time and is a favourite with adults and children alike.

The Tasmanian Devil exhibit was presented with a Silver Award in Interpretation Australia’s 2012 National Awards for Excellence.

The life-size Asian and African Elephants have withstood many years of rigorous handling and harsh environmental conditions, demonstrating their superior design and construction.

The Safari Park Playground was the winner of the Kidsafe 2010 National Playspace Design Awards (Public Playspaces - Regional Parks).

The Lion Pridelands sculpture initially featured on the Taronga Zoo float at the 2018 Sydney Gay & Lesbian Mardi Gras Parade.

As part of major improvements to Werrington Lakes, Penrith City Council commissioned thirteen stainless steel trail markers, to act as reference points along an environmental trail. The sculptures were set into sandstone blocks and reflect the native fauna of the area. They were installed in 2015.

In 2005 Waverley Council commissioned ten small stainless steel sculptures for the coastal walk between Bondi and Bronte. Mounted onto sandstone blocks, they accompanied new signage focusing on the coastal environment and history of the area.

Cabbage Tree Bay (Shelly Beach, Manly) is the only west-facing beach on Australia’s east coast. In 2002 it was declared a ‘No Take’ Aquatic Reserve, and the Eco-Sculpture walk was established to increase awareness of the area and its unique marine life.

Eight small marine grade stainless steel sculptures were commissioned for the site. Each of the sculptures illustrates a special feature of Cabbage Tree Bay.

Tim Johnman has worked collaboratively with Ric McConaghy, designing and manufacturing sculptural elements for a number of all-abilities playspaces around Australia, including the Children's Hospitals at Westmead, Sydney, Brisbane and Canberra; Stockland Shopping Centres at Baulkham Hills, Forster and Shellharbour, NSW;  Casuarina Square, Darwin; Harpley Estate and Brimbank Park, Victoria; Parramatta Paddocks and Jordan Springs, Sydney; and Bathurst Adventure Playground, NSW.

Other commissions have included HMAS Penguin (Royal Australian Navy), Arabanoo Lookout (Sydney Harbour National Park), Charles Darwin Monument Wallerawang (National Trust), Sydney Cricket Ground, Downing Centre Courthouse, Emirates Resort Wolgan Valley, Kiama and Lithgow Tidy Towns and Wildlife Sydney Zoo.

Original sculptures are manufactured in my workshop in Lithgow, west of the Blue Mountains.

Stainless steel and bronze editions are cast at Hycast Metals in Western Sydney. I often have a small selection of stainless steel sculptures in stock. For items not in stock, casting takes approximately 5 weeks.

My sculptures can also be cast in lightweight resin composites with stone/marble or metal finishes. This can be more economical, especially for larger works.
